The dog is able to easily stand up, turn around and sit. When hooked to her harness, it causes her no discomfort, and she is secured so that she doesn't go flying from any sudden stops or movements.
This seatbelt leash fit the bill nicely. The stitching is sturdy and neat. I like the added bungee section that is different than others I have used. The adjustable length is nice. I usually use this as a tether when in public as the latch attachment clips easily to a belt loop or key ring.

Bought this for one of our dogs who doesn't always like to sit still in the car and tries to climb onto the driver which is a problem. This clips into the seat belt receptacle on one end and clips to the dog's harness on the other. You can clip it to the collar but that's not really recommended. It fits the seat belt for a 2012 Honda CRV.
